Bio
Arrvinraj Balasubramaniam (b. 1996, Malaysia) is a Singapore and Malaysia-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans performance art, photography, painting, sculpture, and installation. His work explores themes of self-identity and human intuition, often engaging with social dynamics and psychology.
He has exhibited and performed internationally. In 2019, he contributed a sculpture to the Sanyi Woodcarving Museum as part of the Taiwan International Youth Wood Sculpture Symposium. In 2020, he participated in Power Play: Invisible Lines, and in 2023, he presented a one-hour durational performance at the Bopiliao Historical Block in Taiwan. In 2024, his work was featured in Fragments of an Unknown Space, a group exhibition at the Singapore International Photography Festival. That same year, he was invited to Studio Plesungan and performed at Undisclosed Territory #14, a performance art festival in Surakarta, Indonesia.
In 2025, he co-founded Con-Temporary Art, a roving gallery project. Most recently, he exhibited at Sama-Sama in the Whitestone Gallery, Singapore. His practice continues to evolve, stretching and bending like a body in motion, always testing the boundaries of space, time, and what it means to be present.
